Custom Boat Names........ We produce all of our boat lettering from 3m High Performance, 2 mil vinyl. This is the most durable film available with a life expectancy of 7 years under the most severe environments. We offer over 2500 typefaces and a wide selection of colors to choose from. Before placing an order you need to gather some information. Download our font catalog at FontCatalog.
This may take some time as it is a very large catalog.
Take a look at the Color Chart and make some selections. You can print the chart or copy it from this link.
You should scroll down and take a look at some of the layout options before going to the boat to take measurements. |
Required Measurements: Determine the size of the area where you want the name to be placed...... |
|
Determine the Maximum Measurements for the Name and Hailing Port, if you are using one. NOTE: Hailing Port will be ordered separately on the add-to-cart page before checkout.. This is the area on the Transom or Topsides that you want to fill with the name. Remember these measurements. They will be used later for ordering. NOTE:We will determine the correct letter height to fit in this area with the number of letters in your name and based on the typeface you choose.. These measurements are the same for sail or powerboats, topsides or transom placement.
|
If you do not want the name on an arc, OR if your boat DOES NOT have a Reverse Transom ...disregard this section and go on. If your boat has a reverse transom, you need to consider placing the name on an arc so that when the boat is in the water and you are viewing it above the waterline, it won't appear to be sagging in the middle. Remember that there is a bit of an optical illusion when you see the boat from different perspectives. |
|
Placing the Name on an Arc...... To place your name on an arc that "Close Matches" the curve of the transom top, please provide measurements A and B. These are the dimensions of the boat or the arc. You will enter these measurements in the "Arc Measurements" box during checkout.
Remember, this is the Transom or Arc Measurement in inches. Not the Lettering Area as mentioned above. We do not guarantee a perfect match, nor would good layout rules dictate a perfect match to the arc. |
| Optional layouts. These will be selected during checkout

Shadow
Note the use of a darker color when no outline is used.
NOTE: On Using Shadows.... a shadow is just that ... not another color to be matched with your color scheme on the boat. The shadow should ALWAYS be a slightly darker in color than the background it is being applied to. White hulls are great with Light Gray. Blue hull = darker blue, etc. Black hulls should not have a shadow. These work best with bright outlines only.
